COUNTY, FLORIDA, October 2026, Haitian-American author and educator Woody R. Clermont has embarked on a new academic journey, pursuing his eleventh degree at City Vision University. Clermont, who graduated from Regis High School in 1988, a tuition-free Jesuit institution known for its rigorous admissions process, is focusing his doctoral studies on how faith-based organizations and rescue missions can enhance services for people experiencing homelessness in South Florida.

Clermont's academic career spans nearly four decades and includes an impressive array of degrees. He holds two associate degrees, three bachelor's degrees, four master's degrees, a Juris Doctor, and is now pursuing a Doctor of Organizational Leadership and Innovation. His most recent achievement, a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University, was completed in summer 2026, earning him distinction with a perfect 4.0 GPA across 36 credits.

The doctoral research will explore the intersection of faith, nonprofit leadership, organizational innovation, and homelessness. Clermont is particularly interested in how rescue missions, religious organizations, and community partnerships can strengthen services for unhoused individuals, addressing underlying challenges such as addiction, instability, unemployment, and social isolation.

Clermont's commitment to community service extends beyond academia. He is a member of New Mount Olive Baptist Church, where he previously participated in prison ministry. He is also a lifetime member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, and involved with Kiwanis International and the Circle of Brotherhood, organizations dedicated to service, leadership, and community improvement.

In recognition of his literary work, Clermont received two Regal Summit Book Awards in 2026. The recognition will be celebrated during the Impact Author Festival and Gala Weekend, scheduled for January 30-31, 2027, at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown in Phoenix, Arizona.

Clermont's latest academic pursuit reflects his belief that education is more than collecting credentials.

Despite his extensive educational accomplishments, Clermont views his latest doctoral undertaking as a practical application of his decades of learning.

Clermont, who has authored more than 40 books through Woody Clermont Book Publications, continues to receive recognition for his diverse body of work, which ranges from medical history and theological inquiry to philosophy, social issues, and imaginative fiction.
