GXO Logistics appoints Balaji Rangaswamy as Chief Information Officer

GXO Logistics, Inc., the world's largest pure-play contract logistics provider, has bolstered its technology organization with the appointment of Balaji Rangaswamy as Chief Information Officer (CIO). This move comes as the company aims to enhance its ability to scale, innovate, and support long-term growth.

Rangaswamy, who reports directly to CEO Patrick Kelleher, will lead the Foundation mandate, focusing on enterprise systems, architecture, and core technology capabilities that enable the company to grow at scale. His responsibilities will include information strategy, information risk, data governance, cybersecurity, digital resilience, and service management. Meanwhile, Chief Technology Officer Nizar Trigui will spearhead the Acceleration mandate, working on the expansion of GXO IQ, Agentic AI, Physical AI, robotics, and other emerging technologies.

In an interview, Kelleher emphasized the company's dual focus: "We're building a scalable, resilient technology foundation and accelerating innovation. These mandates are interconnected. Nizar will lead our innovation agenda, while Balaji's extensive experience in large-scale technology transformations will help modernize our enterprise systems, enabling us to execute, innovate, and grow."

Rangaswamy, a seasoned technology executive with three decades of experience, joins GXO from Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, where he served as Vice President of Digital Technology for a $30 billion business. At Collins, he led technology strategy and execution across the full value chain, from sales and order entry to manufacturing, planning, and operations.

Rangaswamy's career highlights include serving as Chief Information Officer at Ricoh Americas Corporation and KLX Aerospace Solutions, as well as Vice President, Information Technology & Data Analytics at The Boeing Company, where he led ERP transformations and post-acquisition systems integration efforts that generated significant synergy value.
