Gunnar Optiks Launches Ojai Vision Recovery System for Screen Time Relief

OCEANSIDE, Calif., Sept. 30, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- GUNNAR Optiks, the company that pioneered computer eyewear, has launched the Ojai Vision Recovery System, a wearable device designed to help users recover from a day of screen time. The device, available now for $99 at GUNNAR.com and select retail partners, combines air compression, heat, vibration, and Bluetooth audio in a full-blackout design to provide a 10-minute recovery ritual.
The Ojai Vision Recovery System is built around the idea of a 10-minute recovery session at the end of a long screen day. Users can customize their experience with five recovery modes, which include combinations of air compression, heat, and vibration. The device also features built-in wireless audio for music, podcasts, meditation, or guided relaxation.
The device includes air compression massage, which provides a rhythmic compression around the eye area for an immersive, relaxing massage. It also features soothing heat, gentle warmth at approximately 43°C (109°F), and a full-blackout design that blocks ambient light and visual distractions. The Ojai Vision Recovery System is foldable and rechargeable, making it suitable for use at home, at the office, or while traveling.
Ahead of launch, GUNNAR ran a real-world pilot study with screen-intensive users. Participants rated how they felt before and after an Ojai session on measures including eye fatigue, dryness, and irritation, pressure and tension, temple discomfort, blurry or tired vision, physical relaxation, mental refreshment, and readiness to return to screens. Key findings included:
- 94% of participants reported a high level of physical relaxation after a session. - 89% said their eyes felt more relaxed. - Average discomfort ratings were approximately 56% lower immediately after a session, across the five eye and vision discomfort measures. - 87% of Day 30 respondents were using Ojai in 10-minute sessions, most often after work or before bed.
Participants most often pointed to the heat, compression, and vibration as standout features. Many described using the time to disconnect and close their eyes, and one called Ojai a "daily fixture."
