GT Resources Discovers Potential Porphyry System at CD Copper-Gold Project

GT Resources Inc. has announced the results of its first MobileMT survey at the CD Copper-Gold Project in Yukon's Dawson Range Gold Belt. The survey, conducted near Carmacks, has identified a potential buried porphyry system that could hold significant mineral deposits.
The survey, which covered an area of approximately 5.5 by 2.9 kilometers, revealed a large, highly resistive body interpreted as a porphyry intrusive center intruding Snowcap gneiss. This body is located directly south of a strong gold-in-soil and Induced Polarization (IP) chargeability anomaly, suggesting the presence of a multi-intrusive porphyry center at the Maloney Target.
Neil Pettigrew, Vice President of Exploration at GT Resources, commented, "The MobileMT survey has allowed us to create a detailed 3D model of the Maloney porphyry target, which shares many similarities with major regional deposits. This model has helped us to target our upcoming drilling with higher precision and lower geological risk."
The CD Project, which hosts a gold-copper porphyry target, is situated within the Yukon-Tanana terrane, a continental arc that developed along the ancient Pacific margin of North America. The project's geological setting, dominated by Devonian and older rocks of the Snowcap Assemblage, provides a favorable environment for porphyry mineralization.
Pettigrew further explained, "The geological mapping and geophysical data have pointed toward a multi-intrusive porphyry center at the Maloney Target. The correlation between the MobileMT low resistivity and IP chargeability anomalies has built confidence in our target."
GT's initial work program has refined the Maloney porphyry targets, reducing reliance on widely spaced, expensive, and higher-risk conceptual drill testing. The company plans to conduct a 2,500 to 3,000-meter diamond drill program at the beginning of the exploration season to systematically test the gold-rich copper porphyry potential and high-grade gold-silver vein targets.
The CD Project's location within the Dawson Range Gold Belt, near the intersection of large-scale northwest and smaller scale northeast structures, provides an ideal setting for late Cretaceous porphyry intrusions and hydrothermal vein formation. The project's geological setting is similar to that of the Casino deposit, which hosts a Measured and Indicated Resource Estimate of 2.39 billion tonnes containing 7.6 billion pounds of copper and 14.8 Moz of gold.
