MEXICO CITY and NEW YORK, Oct. 13, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Grupo Trafalgar, a diversified Mexican group, has received investment-grade ratings from Moody's Local México for its two principal regulated entities. The ratings, which are local-currency issuer ratings on Moody's Local México's national scale for Mexico, are significant milestones for the company as it seeks to expand its presence in the Mexican securities markets.

TRF Casa de Bolsa, a broker-dealer that has been part of Grupo Trafalgar since June 2026, has been assigned a rating of BBB+.mx. This rating reflects the firm's established, fully licensed platform, which retained its authorization from Mexico's National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV). The firm also has a conservative liquidity and leverage profile, focusing primarily on government debt instruments with limited proprietary positions. TRF Casa de Bolsa's capitalization was bolstered by a capital contribution from Grupo Trafalgar as part of a broader capitalization plan. Moody's Local México projects that the firm's capitalization ratio (ICAP) will converge toward approximately 30% as operations scale up, remaining above regulatory minimums.

Carlos Septién Michel, the Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Trafalgar, expressed that the rating is significant because it is based on the firm's own capitalization, liquidity, risk management, and business model, rather than on the implicit support of a parent bank. The stable outlook for TRF Casa de Bolsa covers the next 12 to 18 months and reflects the expectation that the firm will continue onboarding counterparties and correspondents, reactivate its client base, grow assets under custody, and execute its stabilization plan while maintaining capitalization, liquidity, and leverage consistent with its risk appetite.

Trafalgar SFP, a SOFIPO (Sociedad Financiera de Ahorro y Préstamo Popular) that began operations in October 2025, has also received an investment-grade rating of BBB.mx. This rating was assigned less than a year after the firm began public operations. Trafalgar SFP is authorized and supervised by the CNBV to provide savings, credit, and other financial services to individuals and small businesses. The firm's quick attainment of an investment-grade rating within its first year of operations validates the governance, risk framework, and capitalization plan with which Trafalgar SFP was built.

Porfirio Sánchez Talavera, the Chairman of the Board of Grupo Trafalgar, commented on the significance of these ratings.

Grupo Trafalgar has expressed its interest in participating in the securities markets of the United States and Mexico. Management believes that combining CNBV supervision in Mexico with the disclosure framework applicable to public companies in the United States would subject the Group to a dual layer of oversight that few Mexican financial groups of its size have chosen to accept. This standard, management believes, would allow the Group to compete with top-tier institutions on equally transparent and regulated terms and give clients added assurance that their assets are properly managed and safeguarded.

The company's focus now is on execution, with milestones including rebuilding counterparty relationships, growing its client base across both institutions, and reaching sustained profitability. Management projects that TRF Casa de Bolsa will reach breakeven in the second half of 2027 and achieve positive net income in 2028. These projections are subject to significant risks and uncertainties, and actual results may differ materially.

In conclusion, the investment-grade ratings from Moody's Local México are significant milestones for Grupo Trafalgar as it continues to expand its presence in the Mexican securities markets. The firm's disciplined approach and strong financial projections indicate a promising future for both TRF Casa de Bolsa and Trafalgar SFP.
