MEXICO CITY, Oct. 27, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Grupo Comercial Chedraui, S.A.B. de C.V. has reported its third-quarter 2026 financial results, highlighting several key metrics. The company's consolidated gross margin increased by 53 basis points, driven by efficiencies at the Rancho Cucamonga Distribution Center (RCDC) in Chedraui USA. The consolidated EBITDA margin saw a modest increase of 14 basis points to 8.7%. In Mexico, Chedraui's EBITDA margin stood at 9.8%, a slight decrease from the 9.9% reported in the same period last year. Chedraui USA's EBITDA margin improved by 18 basis points to 7.5%, benefiting from procurement and operational efficiencies.
The company's consolidated net income for the quarter amounted to $1,626 million pesos. The net cash multiple to EBITDA ratio was -0.13x at the end of the third quarter, compared to -0.03x in the previous year. Sales floor expansion in the last twelve months stood at 3.4%, with Chedraui Mexico seeing a more significant growth of 4.7%. The appreciation of the Mexican peso against the U.S. dollar had a positive impact on the results, contributing to a 6.2% increase.
In Mexico, the Southeast Region's performance was affected by the slowdown in public and private investment and lower tourism activity. Despite this, the same-store sales (SSS) in the Southeast Region were above the ANTAD average in the Self-Service sector, reflecting the company's resilience. Chedraui Mexico's EBITDA margin decreased by only 5 basis points compared to the same quarter of the previous year, thanks to effective cost containment strategies.
In Chedraui USA, same-store sales remained soft, impacted by a decrease in transactions. Factors contributing to this include a stricter immigration policy, reduced SNAP benefits distribution, and consumer spending constrained by high gasoline prices. However, the company's EBITDA margin improved by 18 basis points to 7.5%, driven by efficiencies in procurement, distribution, and operational improvements.
During the quarter, Grupo Comercial Chedraui expanded its retail presence, opening a total of 22 Supercitos, three Chedraui stores, a Super Chedraui, and an Arteli store in Mexico. In the United States, the company added an El Super store and a Fiesta store. These openings reflect the company's commitment to growth and market expansion.
The financial position of the company remains strong, with a Net Debt (cash) to EBITDA ratio of -0.13x for the first nine months of the year, compared to -0.03x in the previous year. The company will host a conference call on Wednesday, October 28th, 2026, at 11:00 am (EST) and 9:00 am (Mexico City CT) for further discussion. The call can be accessed via operator-assisted toll-free numbers or through a webcast.
