TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 20, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Global Ordnance Holdings, a U.S.-owned defense company founded in 2013, has partnered with Sparkz Inc. to establish the first fully domestic manufacturing for high-performance drone batteries. The agreement, signed during AUSA 2026, aims to address the critical U.S. defense supply chain need for drone technologies.

Global Ordnance Holdings, which supplies ammunition, energetics, and unmanned systems to the U.S. government and allied nations, will lead sales and distribution through its extensive defense market relationships and distribution network. Sparkz Inc., the only company succeeding in establishing the LFP battery ecosystem in the U.S., will manufacture and supply the batteries. The partnership is expected to deliver 210,000 battery packs beginning early 2027, with full manufacturing capacity expected to start in Q2 2027.

Jeffrey Brunozzi, president of Global Ordnance Holdings, emphasized the importance of a dependable supply of components for drone operations. "Batteries are central to the equation," he stated.

Sanjiv Malhotra, CEO of Sparkz, highlighted the company's commitment to delivering high-performance batteries tailored to specific drone applications.

The agreement aligns with the U.S. Department of War's emphasis on the origins of drone components and the industrial capacity needed to supply them. The Drone Dominance Program supply chain framework calls for progressively tighter sourcing requirements, with the ultimate goal of a wholly domestic small-drone supply chain. As the Pentagon expands its use of unmanned systems, the demand for reliable and domestically sourced batteries is expected to rapidly grow. In 2027, forecasts indicate approximately one million drones, with demand for 2028 and beyond expected to continue to grow rapidly.

This partnership supports Global Ordnance Holdings' broader work in autonomy, unmanned systems, and mission-tailored defense solutions, connecting advanced technologies with the equipment and supply capabilities required to support operational readiness. The initiative underscores the companies' commitment to strengthening the U.S. defense supply chain and ensuring a reliable and domestically sourced component for drone technologies.
