Global Green, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing sustainable, resilient, and healthy communities, launched its new initiative, Healthy People, Healthy Planet™, during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81) and Climate Week NYC. The launch came as part of a week-long series of discussions focused on climate action, sustainable food systems, clean energy, innovation, and implementation.

The initiative aims to connect human health and planetary health through product certification, strategic partnerships, sustainable food systems, and resilient communities. Global Green joined leaders from business, finance, philanthropy, civil society, and international organizations in high-level discussions that reflected the priorities at the heart of Healthy People, Healthy Planet™.

One of the key events was an invitation-only agrifood transition workshop organized by Arc, in collaboration with Ceres, Climate Bonds Initiative, FAIRR, Global Canopy, Project Drawdown, and WBCSD. The workshop focused on regenerative agriculture, protein diversification, food loss and waste, and the transition toward more resilient food systems.

Global Green also participated in the Future of Food Coalition with the World Climate Foundation, Food Nation, and partners, exploring regenerative agriculture, protein diversification, and investable food-system transformation. The discussions highlighted the importance of translating cross-sector collaboration into practical pathways for investment and implementation.

Against this backdrop, Global Green launched Healthy People, Healthy Planet™ to help connect these priorities and turn them into action. The initiative will bring together companies, innovators, communities, and strategic partners developing solutions that advance both environmental sustainability and human well-being. Through strategic partnerships, education, product certification, and the Healthy People, Healthy Planet™ Pledge, Global Green aims to help move promising solutions from recognition to measurable impact.

Global Green expects to announce new partnerships, product certifications, and related initiatives in the coming weeks as Healthy People, Healthy Planet™ moves from launch into implementation.

The initiative will involve a range of activities, including the development of a product certification program that will assess and promote sustainable practices. Strategic partnerships will be formed with organizations committed to environmental and social responsibility, fostering collaboration and innovation. Education and awareness campaigns will be launched to inform the public about the importance of healthy people and healthy planet, and the Healthy People, Healthy Planet™ Pledge will be introduced to encourage individuals and businesses to take action.

Healthy People, Healthy Planet™ aims to address the interconnectedness of human health and environmental sustainability, recognizing that the well-being of one cannot be achieved without the other. The initiative seeks to create a more integrated approach to sustainability, one that connects environmental progress with human health, stronger communities, and practical solutions that can move into action.

The launch of Healthy People, Healthy Planet™ marks a significant step forward in the global effort to address climate change and promote sustainable development. As the initiative moves into implementation, it is expected to drive meaningful change and contribute to the broader sustainability landscape.
