Gladiator Metals Corp. has announced significant drilling results from the Cub East target within the Whitehorse Copper Project in the Yukon Territory. The company’s latest exploration efforts have uncovered a high-grade copper-gold-silver discovery, with assays showing broad mineralization across the 1.5-kilometer Black Cub trend.
The company’s drill hole BCG-045 returned an impressive 21.2 meters grading 3.07% copper, 1.19 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, and 24.65 g/t silver, starting from 183 meters. Another notable result, BCG-050, delivered 47 meters of mineralization grading 1.01% copper, 0.44 g/t gold, and 7.07 g/t silver, with a higher-grade interval of 32.31 meters grading 1.40% copper, 0.63 g/t gold, and 9.70 g/t silver from 202.69 meters.
These results are part of an ongoing exploration program that has expanded the known mineralized horizon at Cub East. The company is currently testing up-dip and strike extensions, as well as new priority targets generated from gravity and induced polarization (IP) modeling. The effectiveness of these geophysical tools is evident, as they have helped identify additional skarn mineralization southeast of the Cub East discovery.
Gladiator Metals Corp. has increased its drilling efforts at the Whitehorse Copper Project, with more than 50,000 meters planned for the year. Five drill rigs are scheduled for the fourth quarter, with a focus on the high-priority Best Chance prospect on the Arctic Chief trend.
The broader Cub East drilling dataset includes several standout high-grade intervals, such as 35.9 meters grading 2.68% copper, 1.35 g/t gold, and 19.55 g/t silver in BCG-023; 40 meters grading 2.01% copper, 0.72 g/t gold, and 19.43 g/t silver in BCG-020; and 72 meters grading 1.14% copper, 0.42 g/t gold, and 8.03 g/t silver in BCG-019. These results confirm Cub East as a rapidly emerging high-grade copper-gold-silver center within the broader Black Cub trend.
The company is also planning additional drilling to test the potential for a larger mineralized system at the Black Cub trend. Recent work suggests that mineralization may be controlled by a broader structural and mineralogical framework, rather than isolated skarn occurrences. This integrated interpretation will be crucial for determining whether the Cub area represents multiple discrete targets or a more continuous, district-scale mineralized system.
Gladiator Metals Corp. is currently operating two diamond drill rigs on the Black Cub Trend and plans to add a third rig in late September. The RC program will initially target historic trenches before expanding to other known shallow targets and mineralization proximal to the Cub East discovery. This next phase is expected to provide a cost- and time-effective way to rapidly test the system’s broader strike potential and accelerate target ranking.
The company’s exploration efforts at the Whitehorse Copper Project continue to demonstrate the potential for significant growth. With more than 600 meters of additional prospective strike to the southeast of the Cub East discovery to be tested, the Black Cub Trend is rapidly becoming one of the company’s most important near-term growth opportunities.
