NEW YORK, Oct. 12, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Detroit and the Rhonda Walker Foundation have joined forces to expand opportunities for girls in Metro Detroit. The collaboration aims to enhance the programming and reach of both organizations, providing more girls in grades 3 through 8 with the tools and support they need to succeed.

The new affiliation, announced during a gathering at Newlab at Michigan Central, brings together Girls Inc.'s national resources and research-informed programming with the Rhonda Walker Foundation's established programs and proven impact. According to Stephanie J. Hull, President and CEO of Girls Inc., the partnership will allow them to start earlier and go further in supporting girls' development.

Under the new arrangement, the Rhonda Walker Foundation's Empowering Her Success Academy will transition to Girls Inc. programming, offering participants expanded opportunities during their critical years of development. The GIRLS INTO WOMEN® program, a five-year mentorship initiative, will continue as the Foundation's signature program, focusing on sustained support for girls as they progress toward adulthood.

This affiliation reflects strategic priorities for both organizations. Girls Inc. sought to expand its work into Detroit through an organization with established programs and demonstrated impact in the lives of Detroit girls. The Rhonda Walker Foundation, in its 23rd year, sought to expand its capacity and increase the programming and resources available to advance the development of Metro Detroit girls.

The new partnership is expected to benefit more than 160 years of Girls Inc.'s history of empowering girls. Rhonda Walker, founder of the Rhonda Walker Foundation, expressed gratitude for the support of partners like Amazon, which has contributed $100,000 to the Rhonda Walker Foundation, including a $40,000 contribution as a Founding Partner of Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Detroit at the Rhonda Walker Foundation.

The new affiliation is expected to provide more girls in grades 3 through 8 with the support and opportunities they need to navigate the challenges and opportunities of their day. With the combined resources and programming, the organizations aim to create a more connected pathway for girls as they grow from childhood into adulthood.
