General Glass International (GGI) has once again supported artists and public art collaboration at the CODAsummit 2026, marking its fourth year as a summit sponsor. The event, organized by CODAworx, connects artists, commissioners, architects, fabricators, and other professionals involved in commissioned art. This year’s summit explored how art, technology, and collaboration can transform public spaces, with programming addressing commissioning, fabrication, and creative placemaking.

GGI’s involvement includes a sponsored artist contest, which recognizes and supports emerging and established artists. The company’s presentation at the summit explored how its Alice® direct-to-glass printing process can translate artistic concepts into the built environment. This innovative process uses ceramic inks fused into glass during tempering, allowing artists to customize artwork scale, combine layered imagery, and vary opacity within individual panels. These capabilities invite artists and design teams to bring their visions to life across diverse applications, from interior partitions to expansive architectural facades.

Sikes highlighted the company’s commitment to helping artists explore possibilities, connect with collaborators, and bring their vision into the built environment.

The three winners of GGI’s sponsored artist contest are: - Anton Morton, an Oklahoma City-based public artist and creative principal of Kasum MANIFOLD, whose practice brings together art, architectural integration, and civic infrastructure to realize complex public installations. - Michael R. DiCarlo, an artist, designer, fabricator, consultant, and educator whose international work explores how art can enhance public spaces and people’s experiences within them. - Courtney Minor, an interdisciplinary artist working in Jersey City and New York City, who uses color, collage, assemblage, and photography to explore identity and amplify stories often overlooked by mainstream society.

Founded in 1900 and now in its fifth generation of family ownership, GGI combines long-standing expertise, strong global relationships, and a customer-first "Can Do" approach. Through technical expertise and creative collaboration, GGI helps glass and glazing professionals, architects, designers, and artists "See What Glass Can Do®", bringing their visions to life across diverse applications.
