FOSTER CITY, Calif., Sept. 18, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Geron Corporation, a hematology-focused biopharmaceutical company, has taken a step to attract and retain talent by granting stock options to nine newly hired employees. Effective September 17, 2026, the company issued stock options that allow the recipients to purchase an aggregate of 821,250 shares of common stock.

The exercise price for these options is set at $1.32 per share, which corresponds to the closing price of Geron’s common stock on the grant date. These options have a ten-year term and vest over a four-year period. Specifically, 12.5% of the shares underlying the options will vest on the six-month anniversary of each employee's commencement of employment. The remaining shares will vest in equal installments over the following 42 months, provided the employees remain with Geron through the applicable vesting dates.

The equity awards were granted by the Compensation Committee of Geron’s Board of Directors in accordance with Nasdaq Listing Rule 5635(c)(4). These inducement grants are subject to the terms and conditions of Geron’s 2018 Inducement Award Plan and the form of stock option agreement under the plan.

Geron Corporation continues its mission to pursue more meaningful moments for people living with blood cancer. The company is building on its foundation in telomerase inhibition by studying imetelstat in myelofibrosis, including a pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial in patients with JAK-inhibitor relapsed/refractory disease, as well as other hematologic malignancies.

This move by Geron is part of its strategy to attract and retain top talent in the highly competitive biopharmaceutical industry. By offering equity incentives, the company aims to align the interests of its employees with its long-term success and growth.
