HANGZHOU, China, Sept. 21, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Gerchamp, an AI and renewable energy infrastructure manufacturer, today announced the launch of its GZC-9038S Nickel-Zinc Battery Cabinet, a factory-assembled, space-efficient UPS battery solution designed for MW-scale data centers and GPU clusters. The GZC-9038S delivers 10C-rate discharge capability and 15-minute backup power, integrating Gerchamp’s proprietary 8XNFG90 nickel-zinc (NiZn) batteries with a multi-functional battery monitoring system (BMS) to provide high-power UPS backup, fast power delivery, no thermal runaway, and 24/7 battery health monitoring.

The GZC-9038S is designed for AI and high-density data centers, integrating a compact cabinet architecture, high power output, and factory-integrated design to optimize UPS deployment where electrical capacity, floor space, and deployment timelines are critical constraints. Factory-built and pre-wired, the battery cabinet minimizes onsite installation requirements and accelerates deployment for high-density facilities.

The GZC-9038S integrates high-power output capability with long-life nickel-zinc chemistry, delivering reliable UPS backup performance for mission-critical applications. The GZC-9038S also features inherently safer chemistry, with aqueous NiZn chemistry and UL 9540A certification, and a 10C discharge rate to support high-rate power delivery for AI clusters and high-density computing environments.

The GZC-9038S also incorporates a multi-functional battery monitoring system (BMS) that provides cell-level monitoring for up to 38 battery modules with millisecond-level data acquisition, delivering real-time battery visibility through local HMI and web interfaces. The system monitors key battery parameters and estimates SOC and SOH to evaluate battery health and lifecycle performance, reducing manual inspections and supporting condition-based maintenance and replacement planning for mission-critical UPS systems.

The GZC-9038S is designed to be up to 75% lighter and 60% space-saving compared to VRLA battery systems, operating within a wide temperature range of -20°C to 55°C. Factory-built and pre-wired, the battery cabinet supports rapid installation and direct replacement of existing lead-acid battery cabinets with mainstream UPS systems. The GZC-9038S is also sustainable, with up to 90% recyclable materials and no hazardous heavy metals.

Gerchamp’s proprietary 8XNFG90 nickel-zinc battery modules incorporate a liquid absorption separator, four-layer sealing structure, and a controlled pressure release mechanism, providing enhanced electrolyte retention, improved sealing performance, and safe pressure regulation under abnormal operating conditions. This architecture helps maintain battery integrity throughout the service life.

The GZC-9038S integrates Gerchamp’s proprietary BMS platform, backed by more than 20 years of battery monitoring and management expertise. The BMS is deployed across global data center and telecom applications, providing real-time battery visibility through local HMI and web interfaces, reducing manual inspections, and supporting condition-based maintenance and replacement planning for mission-critical UPS systems.

The GZC-9038S is designed to deliver high-power backup for AI infrastructure, addressing the new power requirements for UPS systems introduced by high-density GPU clusters. The GZC-9038S’s 10C discharge rate enables rapid power delivery for AI clusters and high-density computing environments, providing reliable UPS backup performance for mission-critical applications.
