Fridge Art Fair, the avant-garde exhibition that has captivated audiences with its playful and immersive experiences, is set to return to Miami Beach for a week-long celebration. The event, titled "Gianni • Madonna • Coconuts," will take place from December 1 to 6, 2026, and will transform the vibrant streets of Miami Beach into a living, breathing tribute to the iconic era of the 1980s and 1990s.
Inspired by the glamour, fashion, and nightlife that defined the Miami of the '80s and '90s, the fair will present a citywide celebration of the era. Organized by Fridge Art Fair LLC, the event will explore the mythology of Miami Beach through the visual language of Gianni Versace, Madonna, and the culture of the 1980s and '90s. The fair will feature contemporary art, photography, painting, sculpture, and installation, all of which will be displayed across various venues in Miami Beach.
The exhibition will be presented across several unique venues, including UMA House by Yurbban South Beach, Habitat Hyett, and the SoBe Visitor Center. UMA House, located at 1775 James Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139, will serve as a hub for the fair, offering a diverse array of art and experiences. Habitat Hyett, situated at 441 Lincoln Rd, Miami Beach, FL 33139, will also contribute to the event, providing a space for art and cultural exploration. The SoBe Visitor Center, located at 1130 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139, will be another key venue, offering a glimpse into the vibrant history of the area.
Fridge Art Fair, founded in New York City in 2013 by artist Eric Ginsburg, has established itself as a unique and unconventional alternative to traditional art fairs. Known for its playful and intimate approach, the fair has built a reputation for bringing artists and audiences together in unexpected spaces. The 2026 Miami edition of Fridge Art Fair aims to continue this tradition, offering a citywide celebration that will be both a love letter to the past and a celebration of the present.
The fair will explore the cultural identity of Miami Beach, focusing on fashion, architecture, nightlife, sexuality, and excess. Bold color, palm trees, neon, gold, camp, and unapologetic glamour will be central themes, reimagining the era through a contemporary lens. Drawing from club culture and the city’s DIY sensibility, Fridge Art Fair will channel the anything-goes energy of South Beach through neon nights, leather, Lycra, club kids, thrift-store glamour, and tropical kitsch.
At its heart, the exhibition is a maximalist celebration of Madonna, Versace, Coconuts, Ocean Drive, and the larger-than-life fantasy of Miami Beach. Coconuts will become a playful icon and recurring sculptural motif, connecting tropical fantasy with the vibrant culture of the era. The fair will invite today’s artists to reinterpret the mythology of the 1980s and 1990s Miami, exploring the glamour, music, fashion, nightlife, and excess that made the city legendary.
