BEIJING, Sept. 7, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- At the IAA Transportation show in Hannover, Germany, FOTON, a leading Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer, is set to unveil its comprehensive strategy for systematic global expansion. The event, scheduled for September 14, marks a significant milestone for FOTON, which has maintained its position as the top Chinese commercial vehicle exporter for 15 consecutive years.

FOTON has long been a pioneer in the commercial vehicle market, expanding from a product-driven export model to a fully integrated global operation. The company has established a robust export system that includes product development, technology transfer, local manufacturing, and supply chain integration. According to FOTON, its efforts have paid off, with export volumes reaching 149,000 units between January and August 2026, marking a 44.3% year-on-year increase.

At the heart of FOTON's strategy is its focus on electrification and intelligence. The company has secured key certifications for its electric light-duty trucks and vans, obtaining WVTA (EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval) and VECTO heavy-duty vehicle carbon-emission certifications. This has opened doors to the high-end European market, where FOTON is rapidly expanding its presence through the CAVAN New Energy product line, which is now available in 15 European countries and has potential in regions like Australia and New Zealand.

FOTON's manufacturing footprint spans 32 local facilities in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. The company has also formed strategic partnerships, including a joint-venture supply-chain entity with COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers to ensure dedicated export shipping capacity. Current projects in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia are further expanding FOTON's manufacturing capabilities, contributing to a resilient and efficient global industrial network.

The launch of the CAVAN BEACON, an intelligent heavy truck compatible with both battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell powertrains, is a highlight of the upcoming event. This product showcases FOTON's advanced technological prowess and its commitment to meeting diverse transportation needs. Additionally, the company will debut seven new-energy vehicle models and six in-house-developed core components, demonstrating its full-chain, self-reliant technological capabilities.

FOTON's strategic presence in Europe is growing, with the establishment of a Regional Parts Distribution Centre (RDC) in Unna, Germany. This center, along with 18 global parts hubs, over 1,200 sales outlets, and more than 1,500 service points, forms a 24-hour parts-support system for fast local after-sales responses across the continent. The RDC marks a significant step in FOTON's efforts to enhance its service capabilities and customer support in the European market.

The IAA Transportation show offers FOTON a platform to showcase its systematic global expansion capabilities and its evolving role in the commercial vehicle industry. With its comprehensive strategy and strong market performance, FOTON is well-positioned to cement its position as a global leader in the sector. As the company continues to innovate and expand, it will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of commercial vehicle manufacturing and logistics.
