HONG KONG, Sept. 7, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- On September 7, 2026, Fosun International Limited, a global innovation-driven consumer group founded in 1992, announced it had achieved a significant milestone in its sustainability journey. The company’s Hang Seng Sustainability Rating was upgraded to AA+, marking a new record. This achievement is a result of Fosun International’s continued commitment to sustainable development and strong performance in various environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas.

According to the Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited, Fosun International was also selected as a constituent of the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Benchmark Index for the seventh consecutive year and included as a constituent of the Hang Seng ESG 50 Index. The upgrade from AA- to AA+ underscores the company's strong market and regulatory recognition of its long-standing practices and ongoing progress in ESG performance. Over the past three years, Fosun International maintained an AA- rating, and this latest upgrade reflects its sustained efforts and achievements in this area.

The Hang Seng Sustainability Rating, a broad coverage evaluation of approximately 500 Hong Kong-listed companies and over 1,300 A-share companies, is based on the sustainability rating framework of the independent professional assessment body, the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA). The evaluation covers seven core indicators: corporate governance, environment, and fair operating practices. Fosun International’s performance was particularly strong in Corporate Governance, Environment, Consumer Issues, and Community Involvement and Development, ranking among the top 10% of participating HK-listed companies in each of these areas.

In recent years, Fosun International has been a leader in ESG management, with consistent high rankings across major global ESG ratings. Under the latest MSCI ESG Ratings 5.0 methodology, the company has achieved the highest rating of AAA. Fosun International was also included in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2026 and was named among the Top 1% in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook (China Edition) for the third consecutive year. Additionally, the company’s FTSE Russell ESG score has consistently been higher than the global industry average, and it has remained a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series for five consecutive years.

Fosun International regards sustainable development as a key responsibility and strategic goal. The company leverages ESG rating requirements to drive management improvements and embed sustainability considerations into strategic decision-making, daily operations, and risk management processes. To support China’s “dual carbon” goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, Fosun International has advanced initiatives in carbon neutrality, energy conservation, emissions reduction, and climate risk management. In 2026, the company published its fourth Climate Information Disclosures Report, further enhancing the systematic approach and transparency of its climate-related disclosures.

Looking ahead, Fosun International will continue to integrate sustainability into its long-term business development and value creation. The company aims to strengthen its ESG management system and leverage the synergies of its global industrial ecosystem to create long-term value for shareholders, customers, employees, and society.
