FlyUSA Launches $100 Million Jet Card Recovery Program

FlyUSA, a U.S.-based private jet charter and aviation solutions provider, has launched a $100 million Jet Card Recovery Program aimed at helping private flyers recover stranded funds. The program offers a complimentary FlyUSA Gold Membership valued at $4,995 and allows participants to earn 20% promotional flight credits on qualifying FlyUSA flights until they recover up to 100% of their verified stranded balance.

According to Barry Shevlin, CEO of FlyUSA, the initiative addresses a significant issue in the private aviation sector where customers have lost access to prepaid funds held by other providers.

The program is designed to provide a path for customers to recover their funds without the need for another large deposit. For every $1 of qualifying flight spend with FlyUSA, participants can earn $0.20 in FlyUSA flight credits toward recovering their verified stranded balance. For example, a customer with a verified $100,000 stranded balance could earn up to $100,000 in flight credits after spending $500,000 on qualifying FlyUSA flights.

FlyUSA's Jet Card Recovery Program is part of a broader effort to address the recurring issue of prepaid funds in private aviation. On September 15, Private Jet Card Comparisons reported that private jet broker ONEflight International had paused flights for at least 30 days, potentially affecting customers with prepaid balances. This incident has drawn renewed attention to the risks associated with prepaid funds in the private aviation industry.

Shevlin emphasized the importance of industry responsibility in managing customer funds. "We should approach their money with the same sense of responsibility. As an industry, we can, and we must, do better."

FlyUSA operates aircraft under its own Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 135 certificate and provides aircraft management, private jet charter, aircraft maintenance, and 24/7 operational support. The company also sources aircraft through a nationwide network when a customer's trip requires an aircraft outside its managed fleet.
