COPENHAGEN, Denmark, FLSmidth & Co. A/S, a global leader in flowsheet technology and services for the mining industry, announced its intention to launch a fourth business line focused on crushing, sizing, and screening (CSS) operations, effective January 1, 2027. The move is part of the company's broader strategic growth plan, which is expected to be officially unveiled in November 2026.

Alanas Kraujalis, currently serving as interim President of the Service Business Line, will be appointed President of the new CSS Business Line. Additionally, Petri Virrankoski will join FLSmidth in 2027 to take on the role of President of the Service Business Line.

According to the company, the new organizational structure will enhance clarity in portfolio ownership, customer needs, and execution priorities, providing a solid foundation for FLSmidth's next phase of growth. The CSS Business Line will integrate capabilities related to the planning, operation, and optimization of flowsheets involving these technologies, aiming to strengthen lifecycle coverage and boost customer productivity.

"We are at a pivotal moment in our growth journey," said Toni Laaksonen, CEO of FLSmidth. "Expanding to four business lines will allow us to further focus on our customers and significantly increase our execution power across the company. This structural shift will create a stronger, more agile foundation to deliver greater long-term value for our customers."

The CSS Business Line will primarily consist of technologies and services currently housed within the Service and Products Business Lines. These offerings, characterized by higher volume, repeatability, and standardization, will be sold primarily through site-level channels. Meanwhile, the Capital Products Business Line will continue to focus on larger, lower-volume, and more engineered offerings.

"This realignment is expected to improve our go-to-market approach and site sales effectiveness," added Laaksonen. "By bringing these offerings closer to our customers' day-to-day operations, we can support a sharper focus on availability, replacement capture, and aftermarket pull-through."

Additional details about the new business line structure will be shared during FLSmidth's planned Capital Markets Day on November 17, 2026.

FLSmidth, headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, is dedicated to enabling its mining industry customers to improve performance, reduce operating costs, and lower environmental impact. Its sustainability ambition, MissionZero, aims for zero emissions in mining by 2030, and the company is committed to becoming carbon neutral in its own operations by the same year.
