UNITED KINGDOM, October 7, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- FiveNines Group, a UK-based company with extensive experience in delivering mission-critical projects, has partnered with Nexus Core Systems to develop a 20-megawatt (MW) data centre in Morocco. The project, announced in April 2026 at the GITEX Africa Morocco event, marks a significant step in Morocco’s ambition to establish itself as a regional centre of excellence for artificial intelligence (AI).
The 20MW facility, located on the outskirts of Casablanca, will be purpose-built for high-density AI computing and will incorporate the latest available semiconductors and Nvidia’s Vera Rubin NVL72 Cloud Partner Reference architecture. This state-of-the-art infrastructure is part of the wider Nexus AI Factory Platform, which aims to create an advanced AI infrastructure hub with a target capacity of 180MW, all running on renewable energy.
FiveNines Group will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the project’s design management, technical governance, consultant coordination, constructability, and procurement strategy. The company will coordinate the early-stage project process, covering briefing, feasibility, design strategy, and concept design. The objective is to prepare a coordinated design package suitable for authority engagement and permit submission.
The FiveNines Group team will collaborate closely with key partners, including lead design consultant Zutari; specialist MEP consultant R&B MEP; and substation delivery partner Fonto Energy. The company has a proven track record, having recently completed a 9.6MW data centre on behalf of a hyperscale client in Austria.
FiveNines Group, established following a management buyout led by Gerry Curran, who has over 30 years of experience delivering complex, mission-critical projects, is committed to delivering the last 0.001% of mission-critical systems. The company offers a range of services, including civil engineering, infrastructure design management, mechanical and electrical solutions, pre-construction services, and renewables.
The project is part of the broader Nexus AI Factory initiative, which was launched at the GITEX Africa Morocco event. The initiative aims to create a first-of-its-kind AI infrastructure hub in Africa, with a focus on renewable energy. The project represents a significant milestone in Morocco’s efforts to become a regional centre of excellence for AI.
FiveNines Group’s involvement in the project underscores its commitment to delivering high-quality, mission-critical infrastructure solutions. The company’s expertise and experience make it well-suited to lead such a significant project in Morocco, contributing to the country’s digital transformation and AI development goals.
