AUSTIN, Texas, Sep 17, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- FirstClose, a leading fintech provider for home equity and mortgage lenders, has introduced Lender Portal, a new workspace designed to streamline the management of borrower leads. This innovative tool aims to enhance the efficiency of loan officers by centralizing the entire borrower lead process, from initial contact to submission.

Lender Portal integrates seamlessly with FirstClose’s XpressEquity digital application and borrower portal. Loan officers can create leads directly within the portal during phone calls or in-branch interactions. Additionally, applications initiated by borrowers through their own devices can also be managed through the same platform. If a borrower uses an application link associated with a specific loan officer, the lead is automatically assigned to that individual. Unassigned leads can be claimed by another loan officer or reassigned by a manager.

The portal also includes a feature that verifies borrower eligibility before the application reaches underwriting. By comparing a soft-pull credit score against the lender's minimum requirements and measuring the borrower's home equity against the lender's limits, the system ensures that only eligible applications proceed. This early check is intended to reduce application fallout, counteroffers, and rework in the underwriting process.

Within the Lender Portal, loan officers can monitor the status of leads and track when borrowers last engaged. This information helps in timing follow-up calls or messages appropriately. The portal also identifies stalled applications and sends automatic reminders to borrowers. Once the borrower re-engages, the loan officer can resume the application from the last completed milestone, avoiding the need to start over.

Tedd Smith, CEO of FirstClose, explained, "Loan officers spend a significant amount of their day searching for information instead of talking to borrowers. This is both inefficient and costly, as it can lead to stalled applications and lost borrowers. Lender Portal addresses this challenge by providing a centralized workspace where loan officers can focus on assisting borrowers and moving applications forward."

FirstClose's mission is to increase profitability and reduce costs for mortgage lenders by offering systems and relationships that enable lenders to assist their borrowers more effectively, reduce closing costs, and ultimately shorten closing times. Lender Portal is part of this broader platform, designed to support mortgage and home equity lenders nationwide.
