PALM SPRINGS, Calif., Oct. 2, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- For the first time, the public can step inside Walt Disney's personal airplane, which has undergone a meticulous restoration, to explore its interior at the Palm Springs Air Museum. This unique opportunity is part of a series of exclusive events scheduled to take place at the museum, located at 745 N. Gene Autry Trail in Palm Springs, California.

The Palm Springs Air Museum, known for its extensive collection of vintage aircraft, will host five interior tour experiences. These tours, which are limited to two hours each, will allow visitors to see the newly restored interior of the aircraft. The tours are open to the public without the need for D23 membership, with tickets priced at $65 for general admission and $50 for museum members. Children 12 and under can enter for free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Each tour will include light refreshments and a keynote presentation from speakers with a connection to the aircraft and the Walt Disney Company. The first event is set for Saturday, October 17, 2026, featuring Mark Malone, a former captain of Walt Disney Productions' Gulfstream I and a historical consultant to the aircraft restoration. On January 16, 2027, Rebecca Cline, the Director of the Walt Disney Archives, will speak. February 20, 2027, will see Ed Ovalle, the Archives Manager at the Walt Disney Archives, take the stage. Bob Gurr, a Disney Legend and former Walt Disney Imagineer, will address the audience on March 6, 2027, and Ed Ovalle will return on April 3, 2027, to share his insights.

In addition to these exclusive tours, the Palm Springs Air Museum boasts an impressive collection of over 80 vintage airframes from World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. These aircraft are housed in 91,000 square feet of open hangars and on the tarmac, providing visitors with a comprehensive view of aviation history. The museum is open from 10 am to 5 pm, with admission rates of $26 for adults and $24 for seniors, teens 13 to 17, and retired military personnel. Active military and their immediate family members can enter for free with valid identification.

For those traveling from out of town, special room rates are available through the Hilton website at www.hilton.com/en/book/reservation/deeplink?ctyhocn=PSPCCHW&srpCodes=LHWP87.
