Field & Stream Lodge Co. is expanding its hospitality platform to Bend, Oregon, and Big Bear, California, following a successful debut in Bozeman, Montana. The company, founded by Starwood Capital Group and AJ Capital Partners, is set to open two new properties in 2028, marking its second and third locations since its launch.
The Bend, Oregon, property will be a 151-room basecamp built on the site of the former Shilo Inn. Situated directly on the banks of the Deschutes River, the lodge will offer year-round access to fishing, skiing, and mountain biking. The Bend location is part of the fastest-growing outdoor recreation market in the country, with a vibrant local culture and a concentration of outdoor lifestyle brands and craft breweries.
The Big Bear, California, property will be a 148-room lodge renovated from the former Holiday Inn Resort. Located on Village Drive, the lodge will feature a restaurant, meeting space, suites, and an outdoor pool and hot tub. Just a two-hour drive from Los Angeles, Big Bear is a year-round mountain destination in the San Bernardino National Forest. The area offers winter activities at Big Bear Mountain Resort and summer activities on Big Bear Lake, including boating and water sports.
Field & Stream Lodge Co. aims to make the Great Outdoors more accessible by offering adventure-ready accommodations designed for comfort and exploration. Each location will incorporate local tributes through its design and hospitality, reflecting the company's mission to inspire more people to cherish adventure and the outdoors.
The company's first lodge in Bozeman, Montana, has been a success, and the expansion to Bend and Big Bear is expected to continue this trend. The new properties are scheduled to open in 2028, with additional details on room offerings, amenities, and opening timing to be announced closer to the debut.
