LONDON, Sept. 16, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Fastmarkets, a leading provider of benchmark prices and information for global markets, has announced a strategic partnership with TMX Trayport, a global provider of trading networks and solutions. This collaboration aims to create a robust digital platform, Fastmarkets Connect, for the physical lithium market, enhancing transparency and connectivity within the sector.
Fastmarkets Connect will integrate Fastmarkets' extensive expertise in the lithium market with TMX Trayport's established technology. The platform will support electronic price discovery and deal initiation, addressing the current gaps in the lithium market infrastructure.
The new platform is designed to facilitate bilateral deal initiation, improve market transparency, and standardize practices across the lithium supply chain. Fastmarkets Connect will also contribute to the development of a more efficient and connected physical lithium market. The project is being developed in consultation with an industry advisory group comprising market participants from across the lithium value chain.
TMX Trayport's Joule platform, which aggregates real-time price data for power, natural gas, and emissions, will provide the technical backbone for Fastmarkets Connect. Matt Brief, president of TMX Trayport, expressed excitement about the opportunity to introduce their digital market technology solutions into the lithium sector.
Fastmarkets, founded in 1913, is an industry leader in providing benchmark prices, analytics, forecasts, and insights for agriculture, forest products, metals, carbon, and energy transition markets. TMX Trayport, headquartered in London and owned by TMX Group, has a significant presence in the commodities trading market. The company's technology supports over 9,800 licensees, 390 trader firms, and 45 brokers and exchanges, facilitating more than 620 million trades across Europe in 2025. The partnership between Fastmarkets and TMX Trayport marks a significant step in the development of digital infrastructure for the lithium market.
