Faruqi & Faruqi Reminds UWM Holdings Investors of Lead Plaintiff Deadline

New York, New York, (Newsfile Corp. - September 6, 2026), Faruqi & Faruqi, LLP, a leading national securities law firm, has issued a reminder to UWM Holdings (UWMC) investors regarding a pending securities class action lawsuit. The deadline for investors to seek the role of lead plaintiff is October 12, 2026.

According to the lawsuit, UWM Holdings and its executives are accused of violating federal securities laws by making false and misleading statements, or failing to disclose material information. Specifically, the complaint alleges that the company deviated from its traditional strategy of not hedging its mortgage servicing rights (MSRs) and instead took on a significant hedge position. The lawsuit further claims that UWM over-hedged in anticipation of a potential acquisition and that its risk management strategies actually created an excess hedging risk. These actions, the lawsuit contends, led to material misrepresentations in the company's public statements.

On August 5, 2026, UWM reported its second-quarter fiscal year 2026 financial results, which included a $603.2 million loss from interest rate derivatives and a $451.9 million net loss for the quarter. These losses contributed to a 43.6% year-over-year decline in the company’s total equity. The next day, UWM's CEO, Mathew Ishbia, disclosed during an earnings call that the company had been "over-hedged" and that the hedge had resulted in a loss, particularly in light of the cancellation of the Two Harbors transaction.

In response to the lawsuit, Faruqi & Faruqi, LLP is encouraging investors who purchased or acquired UWM securities between March 9, 2026, and August 5, 2026, to contact the firm to discuss their legal rights. The firm can be reached directly at 877-247-4292 or 212-983-9330 (Ext. 1310).

Faruqi & Faruqi, LLP, founded in 1995, has a history of recovering hundreds of millions of dollars for investors. Investors are advised that they may seek to be appointed as lead plaintiff in the class action. Any member of the putative class may file a motion with the court by the October 12, 2026, deadline.

The firm is also inviting anyone with information about UWM's conduct to come forward, including whistleblowers, former employees, and shareholders.
