FANUC America showcases advanced robotics and automation at IMTS 2026

At the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) 2026, FANUC America is showcasing a range of advanced robotics, automation, and CNC technologies aimed at enhancing productivity and flexibility for manufacturers. The company’s booth, located at 338900, will highlight how its Physical AI, digital twin, and virtual commissioning solutions are transforming the manufacturing landscape.
FANUC America’s President and CEO, Mike Cicco, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation, stating, "Manufacturing is evolving with Physical AI, which allows robots to perceive, reason, and act autonomously in real-world environments. This technology is enabling manufacturers to automate more complex tasks with greater intelligence and adaptability."
One of the key demonstrations at IMTS is a collaborative effort with Google Cloud, where AI agents can interpret handwritten instructions and direct robots to identify, locate, and kit parts needed for manufacturing operations. Additionally, FANUC’s CRX Vibe Coding demonstration showcases how generative AI and natural-language commands can automatically generate Python code and robot programs, simplifying the programming process for manufacturers.
Google Cloud’s Praveen Rao elaborated, "AI agents and multimodal reasoning are transforming manufacturing from rigid automation into intelligent collaboration. By combining FANUC robotics with Gemini Enterprise, we can dynamically perceive the environment, safely execute complex physical tasks alongside human workers, and operate through intuitive natural-language controls, cutting programming time and scaling automation across the plant floor."
FANUC is also expanding its CRX collaborative robot portfolio, introducing the new portable CRX-3iA, which has a 3 kg payload and a lightweight design, making it suitable for space-constrained environments. The company’s new R-50iA Compact DC Controller, designed for autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), supports direct 24V to 48V DC battery power, reducing system complexity.
At IMTS, FANUC will also debut its next-generation ROBODRILL DC Series machining centers, featuring FANUC's latest CNC and servo technologies. The D54CS is capable of heavy drilling, high-speed drilling, and tapping, while the D74CS showcases high-speed cutting with a new 12k high-acceleration spindle. The D116CS introduces expanded X and Y-axis strokes, demonstrating FANUC's precision and speed in large electric vehicle instrument panel processing.
FANUC will also highlight its advanced assembly technologies, including a CRX-30iA and R-50iA Mate Controller performing integrated force control to assemble planetary gear systems. Another exhibit will feature a high-torque bolt tightening application that provides real-time process feedback and quality verification.
In welding and material joining applications, FANUC’s new CRX-3iA will demonstrate vertical-up welding on structural steel, and two new R-2000 E Series robots in automotive spot welding will highlight the latest in industrial robot platforms. The company will also showcase a new M-810/190-20B robot in a wet machining demonstration, powered by FANUC CNC and robot G-Code technologies.
To support manufacturers throughout the production lifecycle, FANUC will exhibit connected manufacturing and service solutions, including Factory AI, Zero Down Time powered by AWS, and AI Servo Monitor. These technologies help monitor equipment performance, maximize uptime, and support workforce training.
