Fama Technologies, Inc., an AI-native platform for online background and behavioral screening, has expanded its global footprint with the appointment of new leadership and the launch of a new data storage center in the EU. This strategic move comes as UK regulators, specifically the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), roll out expanded non-financial misconduct rules, raising the bar for how regulated firms screen and monitor employee behavior.
The company has named Kev Stone as the General Manager of EMEA, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in the background screening industry. Stone most recently served as the Director of Sales & Marketing EMEA at Accurate Background and has held senior regional leadership roles at ADP, HireRight, and Kroll. Based in the UK, Stone will lead Fama's strategy across the region as the company scales its European presence.
Alexandra Yndo has joined Fama as the VP of Marketing. Previously, she led global marketing at TrustArc, a privacy, risk, and compliance software company, where she built and scaled the marketing organization spanning demand generation, product marketing, and brand. Yndo brings nearly two decades of B2B marketing leadership to Fama's go-to-market strategy as the company expands internationally.
Fama is also opening a new data storage center on AWS infrastructure in the EU. This move ensures that personal data collected on behalf of EU customers stays within EU borders, addressing GDPR and country-specific data residency requirements. According to Brendten Eickstaedt, CTO at Fama, "Increasingly, we are seeing that our European customers want to keep screening data in-region to comply with local law. Hosting in the EU lets our EU customers meet that bar without changing how they work with Fama. This means we can offer a globally unified customer experience while providing jurisdictionally relevant data storage."
Founded in 2015, Fama is headquartered in Los Angeles, California. The company has raised more than $30 million and is committed to providing a clear, more confident hiring experience for every organization it serves.
