European Commission Initiates Review of Antidumping Duties on Chinese Silicon Metal Imports

LONDON, Sept. 01, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Ferroglobe PLC confirms the European Commission has initiated an interim review of antidumping duties on silicon metal imports from China, following a request by Euroalliages, the EU silicon metal industry association. The decision comes after years of data submissions from the industry, which Ferroglobe has repeatedly highlighted as a significant challenge to the European market.

The review will assess whether Chinese silicon metal imports are being sold at below fair value and whether these imports are causing material injury to EU producers. This action aligns with a series of favorable trade-remedy measures already in place, including antidumping and countervailing duties imposed by the U.S. International Trade Commission and enhanced EU steel safeguards.
