ErythroAGRO Unveils Rapid-Cure XyloSHIELD for Commercial Timber Framing

ErythroAGRO, a division of Erythros Life Sciences, has unveiled a revolutionary new product called XyloSHIELD Rapid-Cure Structural Timber Defense. This advanced formulation is designed to drastically reduce the time required for timber to cure after framing, addressing a significant bottleneck in commercial construction projects.

Traditionally, exposed dimensional lumber and mass timber in commercial, multi-family, and heavy civil construction have required up to 48 to 72 hours of dry weather to reach an 18% moisture threshold necessary for insulation, electrical rough-ins, and drywall enclosure. This process can be disrupted by unexpected rain, causing significant delays and costing general contractors thousands of dollars per day in standby time. XyloSHIELD, however, promises to slash these curing times down to under four hours.

The proprietary neat anhydrous bio-lipid polymer matrix of XyloSHIELD penetrates the cellulose and lignin matrix of structural lumber, locking into wood pores and achieving 98.4% rainfast cure within this shortened timeframe. Unlike conventional water-diluted salts and borate coatings, XyloSHIELD does not wash away under precipitation, ensuring that the treated wood remains protected even during rainy conditions.

Michael Pine, Founder and Managing Director of Erythros Life Sciences / ErythroAGRO, emphasized the importance of this innovation in the construction industry.

XyloSHIELD is safe for use with fasteners and hardware, making it fully compatible with Simpson Strong-Tie framing anchors, galvanized nails, and structural screws. It can be applied on-site using standard low-pressure commercial airless sprayers or roller systems at ambient temperatures down to 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4.4 degrees Celsius). This flexibility ensures that contractors can continue their work without interruption, even in cooler weather conditions.

ErythroAGRO is also committed to empowering certified Minority, Women, and Business Enterprise (MWBE) subcontractors. By equipping these partners with a verifiable, high-margin specialty preservation scope, XyloSHIELD helps them meet the strict NYS Article 15-A Commercially Useful Function (CUF) audits. General contractors, framing crews, and certified MWBE specialty trades can review the relevant CSI 06 05 73.13 submittal specifications and join the priority allocation waitlist by visiting the company's website.

Commercial drum quantities (55-gallon) and Turnkey Pilot Pails (5-gallon) are scheduled for Q1 2027 shipping. Interested parties can review the specifications and join the waitlist by visiting erythroagro.com/contractors.

ErythroAGRO continues to develop high-performance, bio-based chemical technologies that protect agricultural crops, livestock, and structural timber without toxic runoff or environmental persistence. The company is dedicated to supporting New York State's green infrastructure goals and empowering certified trade contractors across public and commercial works.
