Eriksen Translations Inc., a leading provider of language services, has been awarded contracts by both the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the City of Somerville, effective in July 2026. These contracts will enable the company to offer Foreign Language Interpretation and Translation Services to state and city agencies, helping them communicate with residents who do not speak English proficiently.

Under the Massachusetts PRF88 statewide contract, Eriksen Translations will provide translation services for various state agencies. This contract will allow Eriksen to translate documents, forms, and public materials, ensuring residents can access essential public programs and services. Eriksen is one of several vendors selected to provide these services, contributing to the state's efforts to enhance language access.

The company has also been awarded a Language Access Services contract with the City of Somerville. This contract, administered by the Department of Communications and Community Engagement, will enable Eriksen to translate materials such as public meeting notices, program applications, and neighborhood flyers. The contract will help Somerville residents access city information and resources in their preferred languages, fostering better communication and inclusivity.

"We are pleased to have been selected for these contracts and look forward to supporting agencies across Massachusetts," said Vigdis Eriksen, Founder and CEO of Eriksen Translations. "Our team is committed to delivering accurate, culturally appropriate language services to help organizations reach the residents who need them."

With four decades of experience, Eriksen Translations Inc. has a strong track record of supporting city and state agencies. The company offers a wide range of language services, including translation, typesetting, web and multimedia localization, and interpreting. Eriksen has worked with clients such as the NYC Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, the NYC Campaign Finance Board, and the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

The Massachusetts PRF88 Statewide Contract is the Commonwealth's primary procurement vehicle for Foreign Language Interpretation and Translation Services. It replaces the previous PRF75 contract and provides state agencies, municipalities, schools, and eligible entities with pre-qualified vendors for document translation, spoken interpretation, and American Sign Language (ASL) services.

The City of Somerville's Language Access Services contract is administered by the Department of Communications and Community Engagement, in partnership with the Somerville Office of Immigrant Affairs. This contract engages multiple pre-qualified language service providers for translation and interpretation across the city's most requested languages. Both contracts take effect in July 2026, marking a significant step in enhancing language access and communication for residents in Massachusetts and Somerville.
