NEW YORK, Oct. 8, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Equilend and Cboe Clear Europe have agreed to connect their clearing infrastructures for securities lending, allowing Equilend clients to access Cboe Clear Europe's services through existing platforms. This integration will span Equilend’s NGT trading platform and its post-trade suite, covering the full lifecycle of a cleared securities lending trade.

The agreement enables Equilend clients to submit trades for clearing at the point of execution via NGT or through a post-trade workflow, across European and U.S. equities, fixed income, and ETFs for more than 20 global central securities depositories (CSDs). Trades can be submitted independently, at trade agreement, or via post-trade, through the preferred channel of the client, with Cboe Clear Europe's matching engine reconciling both legs of the trade.

Cboe Clear Europe introduced its central clearing service for securities financing transactions in 2025, initially covering European equities and ETFs. The service has since expanded to include European and U.S. fixed income products and will soon launch U.S. equities. The company is planning additional asset classes for future rollouts. CCP-cleared transactions may also carry more favorable capital treatment, a growing consideration for participants in securities lending.

Equilend, a global financial technology firm, operates across various jurisdictions worldwide, adhering to the highest regulatory standards. The company is committed to excellence and innovation, with more than $55 trillion in notional transactions on its platform. Equilend's trading, workflow automation, data & insights, and digital solutions serve the securities finance industry, with offices in North America, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific.

The partnership between Equilend and Cboe Clear Europe is part of a broader trend in the securities lending market toward clearing. This move aims to provide clients with a seamless integration of clearing services into their existing workflows, reducing the need for costly technology implementations and operational changes. The agreement is expected to enhance the efficiency and risk management capabilities of Equilend's clients, aligning with the growing demand for central clearing in the securities lending sector.

Equilend's Spire and 1Source platforms will also benefit from the integration, providing clients with direct access to central clearing without the need for direct CCP connectivity. This solution allows clients to choose Equilend as a provider without considering counterparty, offering flexibility in managing clearing at the point of trade or post-execution.

The integration of Cboe Clear Europe's clearing service into Equilend's infrastructure is a significant step in the evolution of the securities lending market. It addresses the practical challenges faced by market participants and aligns with the industry's move toward central clearing. The partnership is expected to drive further adoption of central clearing services and enhance the operational efficiency of securities lending transactions.
