Global e-bike brand ENGWE has named former Dutch football star Robin van Persie as its new brand ambassador, ahead of Car-Free Day. The partnership, titled "GOOD AS G.O.A.T," aims to connect van Persie's legendary career with ENGWE’s vision for everyday mobility.
Van Persie, known for his remarkable achievements with clubs like Feyenoord, Arsenal, and Manchester United, brings a legacy of reliability and consistency to the partnership. His career was marked by significant milestones, including a Premier League title, two Golden Boots, and his iconic 2014 World Cup diving header. Since retiring from professional football, van Persie has transitioned into coaching and family life, maintaining his commitment to being present and reliable.
ENGWE’s CEO highlighted van Persie’s qualities, stating, "Robin represents performance, discipline, and reliability, but also an active way of life that goes far beyond football. Together, we want to make e-mobility a more natural part of everyday life and inspire more people to move, explore, and enjoy every ride."
The partnership launches with ENGWE’s "Car-Free, Carefree" campaign, which runs from September 16 to October 8. The campaign encourages people to reconsider short car journeys and opt for e-bikes as a more active and flexible way to move. During the campaign, customers can save up to €685 on e-bikes.
Van Persie will make his first public appearance with ENGWE at SOE Spain on September 19, where he will ride the ENGWE L20 3.0 Series. This series is designed for comfort, featuring a step-through frame, full suspension, torque-sensing assistance, fast charging, and connected IoT features. The L20 3.0 Pro has also received positive recognition, earning the iF DESIGN AWARD 2026.
ENGWE operates as a global brand with a mission to help people find and achieve a New Way for short trips. The company’s capabilities span research and development, design, manufacturing, quality control, and after-sales support. In Europe, ENGWE is supported by 15 branded stores and more than 400 retail partners, alongside a global network of 18 overseas warehouses and 450+ after-sales service centers.
The partnership with van Persie is part of ENGWE’s broader strategy to promote e-mobility and encourage a more sustainable and active lifestyle. With Car-Free Day approaching, the company aims to inspire a shift towards more eco-friendly transportation methods.
