ENA Respiratory Begins Part B Dosing in INNA-051 Study

MELBOURNE, Australia, Sept. 15, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- ENA Respiratory, a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company, has initiated the dosing phase of Part B in its Phase IIa community study of INNA-051. The study, titled 'POSITS' (NCT07222670), is designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of INNA-051 in reducing the incidence, duration, and severity of symptomatic viral respiratory infections among young adults.

INNA-051 is a once-weekly, dry powder nasal spray that aims to prime the body's natural antiviral host defences in the nose, where common respiratory viruses such as rhinovirus, flu, RSV, and coronaviruses primarily enter. The therapy is intended to enable the body to respond more quickly to viral challenges and potentially reduce the risk of complications in at-risk populations.

The study, which is being conducted across five sites in the United States, including the Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and the Naval Medical Research Command Clinical Trials Center in Bethesda, Maryland, will recruit up to 900 participants. Recruitment targets those in severely crowded households, residents of university housing, military personnel living in barracks, childcare center workers, and individuals living with or caring for a child aged 10 or less attending school or day care.

The initial Part A of the study, which involved 200 participants, was successfully completed in May. No safety concerns were identified following four weeks of weekly dosing.
