Employment Lawyers File Class Action Suit Against W.S. Balkhi Corporation

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., Sept. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/, Employment and labor lawyers from Blumenthal Nordrehaug Bhowmik De Blouw LLP have filed a class action lawsuit against W.S. Balkhi Corporation, alleging a series of violations of California Labor Code. The lawsuit, Case No. CIVVS2605799, is currently pending in the San Bernardino County Superior Court of the State of California.
According to the lawsuit, W.S. Balkhi Corporation is accused of failing to provide employees with accurate wages due to missed meal breaks, as well as other violations of the California Labor Code. Specifically, the company is alleged to have:
- Failed to pay minimum wages - Failed to pay overtime wages - Failed to provide legally required meal and rest periods - Failed to provide accurate itemized wage statements - Failed to reimburse for required expenses - Failed to pay sick wages - Failed to provide wages when due
These violations are said to be in violation of the following sections of the California Labor Code: Sections 201-203, 226, 226.7, 233, 246, 510, 512, 1194, 1197, 1197.1, 2802, and the applicable Wage Order(s).
The lawsuit further alleges that W.S. Balkhi Corporation required its employees to perform work assignments while clocked out for what should have been off-duty meal breaks. Additionally, the company is accused of forcing employees to work in excess of four hours without being provided ten-minute rest periods. This practice is said to have led to the company allegedly rounding the meal period time to avoid paying penalties to employees. Furthermore, the employees were denied their first rest periods of at least ten minutes for some shifts worked of at least two to four hours, their first and second rest periods for some shifts worked of between six and eight hours, and their first, second, and third rest periods for some shifts worked for ten hours or more.
