Tel-Aviv, Israel, Sept. 29, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Ellomay Capital Ltd., an Israeli-based renewable energy developer, has announced a significant milestone in its battery storage project. The company’s Spanish subsidiary, Ellomay Solar S.L., has received a permit for a 22.2 MW / 100.3 MWh (4.5-hour) battery energy storage system (BESS) facility. This project, which will be constructed on land already leased to Ellomay Solar, is expected to commence in the beginning of 2027 and be completed by the fourth quarter of the same year.
The BESS facility will complement Ellomay Solar’s existing 28 MWp solar facility in Talaván, Cáceres, Spain. The permit also allows the facility to charge up to 22.2 MW of electricity from the grid, enhancing the flexibility and profitability of the project.
