REHOVOT, Israel, Oct. 14, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- EcoPhage, a company specializing in sustainable phage-based biopesticides, has entered into a significant distribution agreement with Agricultura Nacional, S.A. de C.V., known as Dragon, to bring its innovative crop protection solutions to Mexican growers. This partnership marks a crucial step in EcoPhage's international expansion and aims to address the growing need for effective and sustainable disease management in agriculture.

Under the agreement, Dragon will handle the marketing and distribution of EcoPhage's products in Mexico, initially focusing on two key products: GoldenEco® and EcoFire®. These phage-based solutions are designed to combat bacterial diseases affecting agricultural crops, which pose a significant challenge for growers worldwide. Traditional disease management programs have relied heavily on copper-based products and, in some cases, antibiotics. However, concerns over resistance, environmental impact, residues, and evolving regulatory requirements are driving the demand for more innovative biological alternatives.

EcoPhage's proprietary technology uses naturally occurring bacteriophages, viruses that specifically target and destroy bacteria, to develop targeted biological solutions for bacterial plant diseases. The company's pipeline includes products for multiple crops and bacterial pathogens, aiming to provide growers with effective, targeted, and sustainable tools that can complement existing crop-protection programs. GoldenEco®, which was recently approved by the EPA in the USA, is specifically designed for the management of bacterial diseases in tomatoes and peppers. EcoFire® targets bacterial disease management in fruit crops.

The partnership between EcoPhage and Dragon combines EcoPhage's advanced phage technology and product development capabilities with Dragon's local market expertise, commercial infrastructure, and agricultural relationships. This collaboration is expected to introduce and expand innovative biological crop protection solutions in Mexico, supporting the development of more sustainable disease-management programs.

The partnership reflects the growing importance of biological solutions as part of integrated crop protection programs. By providing growers with access to targeted, phage-based products, EcoPhage and Dragon aim to support the development of more sustainable disease-management programs and provide additional tools that can help reduce reliance on conventional approaches where appropriate. The company's vision is to build a global platform of biological solutions for bacterial diseases, with the partnership with Dragon being a crucial part of that vision.
