At the IFA 2026 electronics and technology show in Berlin, EcoFlow showcased its latest innovations, including the RIVER Gen4 portable power station series and the PowerRock 4000 industrial portable power station. Both products will be on display at Hall 2.2, Booth 166, from September 4 to 8, alongside the company’s existing offerings such as the OCEAN 2 three-phase home storage system and the STREAM home battery series.

EcoFlow’s founder and CEO, Bruce Wang, emphasized the company’s mission to transform the way people interact with energy. “Energy shouldn’t just be something you access; it should follow you wherever you go,” he said. “Whether you’re camping, working on a building site, or managing your home energy needs, our products are designed to empower you with reliable, smart, and portable power solutions.”

The RIVER Gen4 portable power stations come in two sizes: the RIVER 260 Gen4 and the RIVER 520 Gen4. The RIVER 260 Gen4 offers 256 Wh of capacity and 300 W of AC output, with an X-Boost feature that can boost output to 600 W for select devices. It weighs approximately 3 kg and is ideal for day trips and everyday use. The RIVER 520 Gen4, with 512 Wh of capacity and 500 W of AC output, can boost to 1000 W with X-Boost, weighing about 4.6 kg, making it suitable for overnight trips and more extensive use.

According to EcoFlow, the RIVER Gen4 models feature an innovative compact architecture that significantly reduces size and weight. The RIVER 260 Gen4 is 29.7% smaller and 16.9% lighter than the RIVER 3, while the RIVER 520 Gen4 is 59.1% smaller and 23.5% lighter than the RIVER 2 Max. These improvements make the power stations more portable and easier to carry, enhancing their usability in various settings.

EcoFlow’s RIVER Gen4 also boasts efficient power delivery, with active idle power that is about 30% lower than industry averages. This optimization ensures that more of the energy is used by devices like camping lights, routers, fans, and refrigerators, rather than powering the unit itself. The power stations can also automatically shut down when devices stop drawing power, further reducing energy waste. In case of unexpected outages, the Emergency Power Mode safely extends the usable discharge range, providing essential services like phone calls and navigation.

Recharging is equally efficient. RIVER 260 Gen4 can reach 80% in 42 minutes, while RIVER 520 Gen4 charges to 80% in 50 minutes. These stations also support bidirectional charging, allowing for charging from various sources, including solar and car adapters. Paired with EcoFlow’s 60 W Lightweight Portable Solar Panel, the RIVER Gen4 series forms one of the smallest and lightest solar generator setups on the market.

Moving on to the PowerRock 4000, this industrial portable power station is designed for professional applications such as construction sites, events, film production, and emergency response. It delivers 4 kW continuously and can provide up to 7.2 kW for 100 seconds, drawing power from a 3 kWh battery. Unlike traditional combustion generators, PowerRock 4000 requires no permit and no electrician, making it a versatile solution for professional jobsites.

The PowerRock 4000 features an industry-first built-in residual current device (RCD) with 30 mA leakage detection and cut-off in under 300 ms, eliminating the need for separate inline RCD modules. The product is housed in a robust, all-metal enclosure, rated IP65 and capable of surviving a 1 m drop. AC charging takes 80% in 48 minutes, and a full charge can be achieved in 60 minutes, with an alternator top-up feature that turns drive time into charging time.

EcoFlow’s RIVER Gen4 and PowerRock 4000, along with the OCEAN 2 and STREAM home battery series, were on display at Hall 2.2, Booth 166, demonstrating EcoFlow’s commitment to advancing portable and industrial power solutions. The company continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in energy management, ensuring that users have reliable power solutions that can adapt to their needs.
