BOSTON, Sept. 29, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- EARNED, a Massachusetts-based baseball culture apparel brand, has signed Boston Red Sox pitching prospect Blake Wehunt to its roster, marking a significant step for the young player and the brand alike.

Wehunt, known to Red Sox fans as the "Chicken Farmer," had a standout 2026 season in the Red Sox organization. The right-hander, selected in the ninth round of the 2023 MLB Draft, put together a breakout season at Double-A Portland, earning Pitcher of the Year honors. His performance included consecutive Eastern League Pitcher of the Week honors, making him the first pitcher in Portland Sea Dogs history to win the award in back-to-back weeks.

In 53.2 innings, Wehunt went 5-4 with a 3.52 ERA and 72 strikeouts. His impressive season saw him progress through the Red Sox organization, starting from the Florida Complex League and moving through Salem, Greenville, Portland, and Worcester before being promoted to Triple-A Worcester. The nickname "Chicken Farmer" comes from Wehunt’s life away from baseball, where he works on his family’s chicken farm during the offseason, making it one of the more distinctive nicknames in the Red Sox organization.

Wehunt's addition to Team EARNED continues the brand's growing connection with professional players, top prospects, and baseball leaders who represent the game at every level. The brand's mission, rooted in a love of baseball and everything that surrounds the game, aligns perfectly with Wehunt's journey and achievements.

"We think that’s what EARNED is about," Jack and Thomas added.

The Chicken Farmer's journey with EARNED is just the beginning. As the brand continues to expand its presence throughout baseball, Wehunt's story serves as a testament to the hard work and dedication required to succeed in the sport.
