Dynamic Aerospace Systems Shows Off UAVs to Japanese Officials

The live demonstration, held on May 15, 2026, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, was attended by approximately 250 to 300 people, including members of the Japanese defense and industrial delegation. The G1-MKIII, a long-range hybrid VTOL UAV, and the US-1, an electric multicopter, were featured in the demonstration. The G1-MKIII is equipped with a swappable modular payload bay, which supports multiple sensor configurations and mission requirements. This feature garnered interest from JSDF offices and Japanese prime-defense engineers, particularly for its potential use in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), disaster response, and search and rescue operations.

Dynamic Aerospace Systems' Japan channel partner, AIR FRAME Mfg. & Supply Co., Inc. (AFM), reported that the G1-MKIII's modular payload bay could meet the needs of the JSDF and Japan Coast Guard (JCG), including ship-based operations around Japan's islands. AFM also expressed interest in promoting the G1-MKIII and US-1 at upcoming defense expos in Japan, including SEECAT in Tokyo, scheduled for September 30 to October 2, 2026, and DSEI Japan, set for April 28 to 30, 2027.

The G1-MKIII is designed for long-endurance operations and can be used for ISR, overwatch, and modular payload missions. Its vertical takeoff and landing capability allows for operation without a conventional runway. The US-1, on the other hand, is a compact multicopter with an efficient battery layout, suitable for extended flight endurance and tactical support operations.
