Drew Lachey is set to host a holiday benefit concert at The Green Room 42, aiming to raise funds for the Ukulele Kids Club, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing music and joy to hospitalized and medically fragile children through music therapy programs.
The event, titled "Happy Holidays to UKE," will feature performances by Broadway stars from the casts of "Wicked," "Hamilton," "Ragtime," and "Label·less," as well as special performances by children and youth impacted by the Ukulele Kids Club's mission. The evening will also include one-of-a-kind auction items, such as exclusive Broadway-inspired experiences and hand-painted ukuleles themed after hit Broadway shows.
Lachey, who is hosting the event, shared his excitement about the opportunity to support the Ukulele Kids Club.
The evening will be led by musical director Joshua Turchin and will showcase the healing power of music through performances by both the cast of "Label·less" and the children and youth who have been positively impacted by the Ukulele Kids Club's programs. The event will also feature a special performance by Lachey himself, further highlighting the importance of music in the lives of children facing serious illness.
Marlén Rodríguez-Wolfe, Executive Director of the Ukulele Kids Club, expressed her gratitude for Lachey's involvement.
The event is presented by Bear Givers and held in honor of the late Dr. Edmund Phelps, a Nobel Prize-winning economist and longtime Columbia University professor who was a passionate advocate for human flourishing. Throughout his life, Dr. Phelps championed creativity, opportunity, dignity, and the belief that every person deserves the chance to thrive. His love of music and commitment to expanding human potential make his legacy especially meaningful to the Ukulele Kids Club, whose mission is rooted in the power of music to bring comfort, connection, joy, and healing to children facing serious illness.
