Dr. Karl D. Liedtka, a seasoned counselor and coach, has released a new book aimed at helping readers navigate life with greater purpose and balance. Titled "Be Present, LIVE Fully: A Guide to Balancing Growth, Connection, and Purpose," the book introduces a practical framework for enhancing well-being and intentional living.
Liedtka, who has spent over three decades supporting students and professionals, brings a wealth of experience to his latest work. The nonfiction book is structured around the LIVE model, which includes four key principles: Be where you are, be who you are, be when you are, and be why you are. From these principles, Liedtka introduces the LIVE model itself, standing for Locus, Intensity, Variety, and Eudaimonia. This model helps readers balance their focus between self and others, manage periods of effort and recovery, incorporate diverse experiences into daily life, and align their actions with a deeper sense of purpose.
"No matter how overwhelming life becomes, you have the ability to grow, overcome challenges, and increase your well-being," Liedtka said. "Everyday experiences, both ordinary and extraordinary, contain valuable lessons that can help you live with greater purpose and intention."
The book is designed to be flexible, allowing readers to tailor the framework to their unique circumstances. It is intended for a wide range of audiences, including young adults searching for their purpose, adults seeking to refocus and find balance, and those looking for practical strategies to reduce distractions. Liedtka hopes that his work will offer guidance and support to individuals experiencing depression or anxiety, helping them to find resilience and wisdom in their struggles.
"Be Present, LIVE Fully" is now available in both softcover and hardcover formats, as well as an electronic version. Readers can purchase the book on platforms such as WestBow Press, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble. Liedtka’s background as a secondary school counselor and his current role as supervisor of K-12 counseling programs at Lebanon High School in Pennsylvania provide a solid foundation for his work. He has also shared his insights through publications, presentations, and professional associations, focusing on student success, career development, and well-being.
Liedtka earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from Lebanon Valley College, his master's degree in psychology from Shippensburg University, and his doctorate in psychology from Grand Canyon University. His new book is available at <https://www.karlliedtka.com/>.
