DMG Blockchain Solutions Advances AI Data Center Conversion

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 14, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- DMG Blockchain Solutions Inc, a vertically integrated data center and digital assets technology company, has announced progress on its plan to convert its Christina Lake, British Columbia facility into an artificial intelligence (AI) data center. The company aims to offer colocation services for AI, with a potential 50 megawatts of critical IT load.

According to the press release, DMG has secured 75 megawatts of power, including 10 megawatts of non-firm power. The company's Christina Lake substation, which is owned, can already support the full 75 megawatt load. DMG is investigating the possibility of twinning the main transformer to allow for future expansion and redundancy. The company believes it may be able to support more than 50 megawatts of critical IT load, given the weather conditions, the new generation of servers, and the potential to leverage alternative energy sources for chillers.

DMG is also working on the design and build process for the facility. The company plans to utilize a general contractor with data center experience and has selected an architectural firm to support the permit for a building extension. Mechanical engineering is still in the selection process, with several candidates having deep cooling systems knowledge specific to British Columbia. The company is also securing tradesmen, with a good supply available in the British Columbia lower interior region.

Connectivity is a significant concern for the project, and DMG has contracted with two telecom providers for two diverse paths of 100 Gbps fiber to its facility. The company is evaluating the possibility of a third line, which may be upgraded to 400 Gbps in the future. The remote location of the site has been a long lead-time concern, and the company has committed substantial capital expenditures ahead of a definitive agreement.

The site location and permitting are ongoing, with DMG applying for a permit to construct an addition to the current building, which would approximately double its capacity to support up to 60 megawatts of critical IT load. The company has operated in a data center-zoned location for many years and has emphasized that the project will not negatively impact utility rates, while using less water and generating less noise than Bitcoin mining.

DMG's CEO, Sheldon Bennett, commented, "We are pleased with our continued progress towards our goal of converting our Christina Lake facility to an AI data center to offer colocation services to a long-term tenant. Concurrently, we are laying the track for future sites, as we believe DMG can become a leader in Canada for offering AI data center colocation services, given our experience working with utilities and connecting to large amounts of power as well as our early position to build a major AI data center site."

The conversion of the Christina Lake data center to an AI colocation facility is subject to several conditions, including financing, permitting, and entering into agreements with counterparties necessary to complete the conversion. DMG is exploring a range of financing options, including rated bonds, lines of credit, and equity/convertible debt, to optimize for cost of capital, flexibility, and speed while minimizing dilution.

DMG will present at the H.C. Wainwright 28th Annual Global Investment Conference on September 15, 2023, at 9:00 AM ET. The company's presentation will focus on its progress and future plans for the AI data center.

The company's goal is to have tenant servers operating by the end of the year, although this is predicated on quickly reaching a definitive agreement. As of September, the company is realistically looking towards a 2027 energization schedule for tenant servers.
