Discovery Texas Interventional Psychiatry Reports Strong TMS Therapy Outcomes

Discovery Texas Interventional Psychiatry has reported strong outcomes from its transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy program, showing significant improvements in depression symptoms among its clients. According to the latest data, the average depression score among clients with a complete PHQ-9 record fell by 73 percent from intake to discharge.

The study involved 22 clients who had both intake and discharge PHQ-9 scores documented. The average PHQ-9 score dropped from 17.4 to 4.7, marking a substantial improvement. Eighty-six percent of the clients achieved a clinical response, defined as a 50 percent or greater reduction in their PHQ-9 score from baseline. Additionally, 45 percent of the clients reached remission, meaning their discharge score was below 5.

The results indicate that 95 percent of the clients ended treatment in the minimal or mild severity range on the PHQ-9 scale, up from just 5 percent at intake. This means that nearly all clients who began treatment in the moderate-to-severe range moved into the lowest severity levels by the end of their therapy.

The results reflect the 22 clients with a documented PHQ-9 at both intake and discharge during the reporting period.
