Discovery Senior Living Appoints Brad Poterack as LakeHouse President

Discovery Senior Living, the largest operator in the U.S. seniors housing market, has announced the appointment of Brad Poterack as President of LakeHouse Senior Living. Poterack brings extensive leadership experience, having served as Chief Operating Officer and previously as Senior Vice President of Operations in seniors housing.

Poterack’s career spans over 25 years, including 13 years with Macy's in progressively senior operating leadership roles. Prior to joining Discovery in 2023, he managed operations for 122 assisted living communities across 10 states. His tenure at Discovery has been pivotal, particularly in the launch and scaling of LakeHouse Senior Living.

Since its inception, LakeHouse has operated 34 communities across five states, focusing on smaller-format communities in secondary and tertiary markets. Under Poterack’s leadership, the company has achieved strong results, outperforming the market in occupancy and delivering sustained growth in revenue, RevPOR, CarePOR, NOI, and NOI margin. These accomplishments have been recognized by Discovery’s CEO, Richard Hutchinson, who praised Poterack for building a market-leading leadership team and an operating platform that produces outsized market results for capital ownership groups.

LakeHouse has maintained a strong focus on resident engagement and team member experience, earning Great Places to Work Certification every year since launch.
