Dios Exploration Inc. has announced encouraging gold assay results from its 2026 drill program at the Heberto gold-mineralized zone within the Au33 Project in James Bay, Quebec. The company completed nine holes for a total of 1,772 meters, significantly extending the footprint of the Heberto zone from 600 meters to 900 meters.
The drilling campaign, supervised by Jérôme Augustin, P.Geo. (OGQ - 2134), has not only expanded the mineralized area but also identified a new gold extension open to the north-northwest (NNW). Key highlights from the drilling include:
- Hole 863-26-55 returned 2.61 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold over 5.25 meters, including 6.99 g/t over 1.50 meters. - Hole 863-26-54 yielded 5.88 g/t Au over 1.60 meters, including 13.00 g/t Au over 0.65 meters. - The drilling extended gold mineralization up to 150 meters northwest along the strike, confirming a similar mineralization style.
Historical results from the project show that earlier drilling has returned significant grades. For instance, hole 2015-1 returned 4.79 g/t Au over 8.65 meters, including 2.13 g/t Au over 22.9 meters, and hole 2016-19 produced 3.65 g/t Au over 13.00 meters, including 1.21 g/t Au over 64 meters.
The company also noted that the gold is hosted within metre-scale, NNW-trending shear zones, shallow dipping west, associated with sericite-potassic feldspar-silica alteration and containing pyrite and magnetite. The drilling campaign was designed to ensure quality control, with the insertion of blank or standard samples every 10 samples on average, and regular insertion of blanks, duplicates, and standard samples accredited by Actlab Laboratories, Ancaster, Ontario.
The Au33 Project, located in the James Bay region, continues to show potential for further exploration. The company highlighted the presence of several NNW and east-northeast (ENE) structures, including gold shear zones, quartz veins, stockwork, and dioritic dykes, which are related to the NNW structures. These structures are also observed near the Bonano gold showing area and related gold-in-soil anomalies, located not far north of Heberto.
With these results, Dios Exploration remains optimistic about the future of the Heberto gold system, which remains open in the strike extent. The company is planning to continue its exploration efforts in the area to further define the mineralized zones and assess the potential for future development.
