Digital Realty Expands Nairobi Data Center in East Africa

NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept. 07, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Digital Realty has expanded its data center capabilities in Nairobi, Kenya, by opening the 6.4-megawatt Nairobi Two Data Center (NBO2), located alongside the existing NBO1 facility. This expansion marks a significant step in reinforcing Nairobi as a key digital gateway for East Africa.

The new data center, part of Digital Realty’s global PlatformDIGITAL® platform, is designed to support cloud, interconnection, and data-driven growth in the region. According to the company, the NBO2 campus will provide customers with access to more than 100 networks, two internet exchange points, and a satellite teleport. This infrastructure will enable businesses to connect to a dense ecosystem for content delivery, cross-border connectivity, data sovereignty strategies, and resilient digital services.

Wanja Muriithi, Country General Manager for Kenya at Digital Realty, emphasized the strategic importance of the new data center.
