Diameter Pay, a fintech platform aiming to expand global access to the U.S. dollar, has secured $10 million in Series A funding. The round was co-led by CMT Digital and Lightspeed Faction, with additional backing from SixThirty Ventures, Stellar Development Foundation, Tech Council Ventures, Onigiri Capital, and BitRock Capital.

Founded by David Lighton, Diameter Pay offers a single API for banks, fintechs, digital asset exchanges, and their customers to access U.S. dollar accounts and payment rails. The platform supports virtual accounts, domestic and international payments, stablecoin on- and off-ramps, and embedded compliance controls across multiple U.S. banking partners. Since the start of 2026, Diameter Pay has processed over $10 billion in transactions.

The U.S. dollar remains a cornerstone of global trade and payments, yet accessing it has become increasingly challenging in many parts of the world. Correspondent banks have reduced their presence in certain markets due to rising sanctions and anti-money laundering risks, leading to a fragmented financial system that excludes legitimate businesses.

David Lighton, CEO of Diameter Pay, stated, "The world is becoming more global, but the financial system is becoming more fragmented. Diameter Pay addresses this by providing the technology, data, and compliance infrastructure to manage and understand risk more precisely, bridging traditional finance with digital finance."

Stablecoins, which enable dollar value to move globally around the clock, highlight the need for reliable connectivity between digital dollars and the U.S. banking system. Diameter Pay offers this connective layer, giving banks the necessary technology, data, and compliance infrastructure to manage digital risk more effectively.

Charlie Sandor, a Partner at CMT Digital, commented, "Stablecoins are transforming how dollars move globally, but they don't replace the need for trusted access to the U.S. banking system. Diameter provides that critical layer, combining traditional payment rails, stablecoin infrastructure, and compliance."

Tim Khoury, a Partner at Lightspeed Faction, added, "The challenge of modernizing global payments with stablecoins isn't just about technology; it's about building reliable and trustworthy compliance and banking infrastructure. Diameter has built this trust, and we are excited to support the company's next phase of growth."

Evan Thorpe, a Principal at SixThirty Ventures, elaborated, "The modern payments stack is about speed-to-trust, with verified counterparties, transactions screened before they move, and licensed settlement behind them. Diameter is the settlement layer that ties these critical parts together, ensuring dollars arrive compliantly across borders."

The funding will be used to expand Diameter Pay's banking and payment capabilities, deepen its stablecoin and foreign exchange (FX) infrastructure, and continue investing in technology and compliance to safely move dollars across borders.

According to Lighton, "Our goal is to provide a compliant, reliable, and secure platform for financial institutions and fintechs to access the U.S. dollar, ensuring that money can move at the speed people and businesses need in a 24/7 world."

Diameter Pay's team comprises banking, payments, technology, and regulatory veterans with decades of experience. Former executives and founders from Deutsche Bank, Fidelity Investments, Segovia Technology, Reserve Trust, and the World Bank are part of the leadership group.
