Waterloo, Ontario and Atlanta, Sept. 1, 2026, Descartes Systems Group (Nasdaq: DSGX) (TSX: DSG), a global leader in logistics technology, announced today the acquisition of Extensiv, a leading provider of 3PL warehouse management and omnichannel fulfillment solutions. The deal will enhance Descartes’ capabilities in warehouse and inventory management, bolstering its presence in the 3PL and e-commerce fulfillment market.
Extensiv’s solutions enable third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to manage inventory, orders, B2B and B2C fulfillment, and billing across a network of sales channels, ecommerce platforms, online marketplaces, and carriers. This breadth of services generates rich, omnichannel fulfillment data that can fuel advanced AI capabilities for warehouse operators and their customers. The AI tools provided by Extensiv allow users to gain quick insights, improve decision-making, and reduce manual effort.
"3PLs face constant pressure to fulfill orders faster, scale flexibly, and meet the evolving needs of modern brands," said Mikel Richardson, General Manager of Ecommerce Operations at Descartes. "Descartes has been a trusted technology provider for 3PLs for many years. With Extensiv, we strengthen our position by adding more participants, richer operational data, and more fulfillment intelligence to the Descartes Global Logistics Network."
Scott Sangster, General Manager of Logistics Services Providers at Descartes, added, "We are excited to welcome Extensiv’s customers, partners, and employees. The combination of Extensiv with Descartes' suite of solutions, including transportation, connectivity, visibility, trade intelligence, customs compliance, and last mile delivery, enables logistics service providers to expand their offerings and scale operations with a single technology provider, rather than a patchwork of vendors."
Based in California, Extensiv was acquired for approximately US $120 million using cash on hand. This acquisition follows Descartes' recent acquisition of Tai, an AI-powered transportation management solution provider for freight brokers, announced on August 24, 2026.
"Descartes powers more responsive, efficient, secure, and sustainable international and domestic supply chains by uniting logistics-intensive businesses on its Global Logistics Network (GLN)," said a Descartes spokesperson. "With the addition of Extensiv, we are further expanding our capabilities to serve the needs of 3PLs and their customers."
The acquisition is part of Descartes' ongoing strategy to integrate advanced technology and data-driven solutions to enhance the logistics sector. By combining Extensiv’s expertise with its own, Descartes aims to provide a comprehensive suite of services that can help logistics providers and their customers navigate the complexities of modern supply chains.
