NASHVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 14, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Decode Health, a precision medicine research and development company based in Nashville, Tennessee, has expanded its program to study neuroinflammatory diseases, focusing on earlier diagnosis and better monitoring of conditions such as multiple sclerosis (MS). The company’s new approach involves analyzing multiple layers of biology from a single blood sample, including circular RNA, to gain a comprehensive view of the disease.

Decode Health’s CEO and co-founder, Chase Spurlock, explained that the company’s work is designed to support earlier, more accurate diagnosis and better monitoring of disease progression.

The company’s latest research focuses on circular RNA, a stable molecule that is still relatively unexplored. According to Decode Health, circular RNA profiles can separate neuroinflammatory disease states, potentially leading to new diagnostic markers and therapeutic targets. The company’s work is currently supported by machine learning models that analyze multiple layers of data to provide insights into disease progression.

Decode Health’s research has already shown promising results. In a study published in The Journal of Molecular Diagnostics, a Decode machine learning model separated NMO from relapsing-remitting MS with more than 90% accuracy. The analysis also pointed to small-molecule candidates with potential therapeutic value. Decode Health’s newest research finds that circular RNA profiles can also separate neuroinflammatory disease states, adding another layer of diagnostic precision.

The company is also working on better monitoring of disease progression. Decode’s RNA profiles track with markers of nerve damage, suggesting these profiles could help monitor disease between clinic visits. At the population level, a study published in Communications Medicine used routine claims data to predict which people with MS would be among the highest-cost patients over the next four months. The models captured about 76% of that spending, compared with 37% to 44% for standard approaches based on recent costs.

Decode Health’s work builds on its years of research across immune-mediated diseases, including autoimmune diseases. The company is currently studying how these circular RNA signals change over time and whether they show up in other neurological and immune-mediated conditions. Decode Health’s platform is continually adopting new tools to move faster, most recently agentic AI, which runs and compares many analyses at once. Experts review every finding to ensure accuracy.

Decode Health’s expanding neuroinflammatory program is part of a broader effort to improve the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases that affect the immune system. The company is presenting its work at three major meetings this fall. It will present circular RNA research to clinicians, researchers, and drug developers at the joint ACTRIMS-ECTRIMS meeting in Toronto. With its sequencing partners, it will then share the protocols behind its multi-layer readout at the Association for Molecular Pathology’s annual meeting in Seattle. It will round out the fall in the Global Health Connector Village at HLTH in Las Vegas, meeting with health technology companies and the payers and health systems they serve.

Decode Health’s work is part of a larger effort to improve the diagnosis and monitoring of neuroinflammatory diseases. The company’s multi-layer approach, which includes analyzing circular RNA, is expected to provide more accurate and comprehensive insights into the progression of these diseases. As Decode Health continues to expand its research, it is likely to play a significant role in the development of new diagnostic tools and therapies for neuroinflammatory diseases.
