Author and Bible teacher David V. Lott, Ph.D., brings biblical exposition, historical context, and practical teaching together through a growing collection of resources at DavidVLott.com.

BRANSON, Mo. — Author and Bible teacher David V. Lott, Ph.D., has expanded the collection of free biblical teaching resources available through DavidVLott.com, creating an online library designed to make serious biblical study understandable and accessible to readers, teachers, and students of Scripture.

The growing collection reflects Lott’s approach to biblical interpretation, which emphasizes careful attention to the words of Scripture while also examining the historical and cultural world in which those words were originally written.

“My goal is simple: to take serious biblical study and make it understandable without making it shallow,” Lott said.

The teaching library includes studies addressing the Messianic miracles of Jesus, the believer’s identity in Christ, the sufficiency of Christ, the relationship between Passover and the crucifixion, the period between the death and resurrection of Jesus, spiritual warfare and belief, and other biblical and theological subjects.

Rather than treating historical background as an interesting addition to biblical study, Lott uses historical and cultural context as part of the interpretive process. His approach can be summarized in four movements: “Respect the words. Understand their world. Establish what the text meant there. Then ask how its truth speaks here.”

That approach reflects Lott’s years of biblical teaching and academic study. He holds an M.A. in Biblical Exposition and a Ph.D. in Bible Exposition from Liberty University. His doctoral research examined Paul’s treatment of Hope in Romans 5:5 through a historical-rhetorical approach.

Lott is also the author of a growing collection of books addressing Christian identity, salvation, biblical Hope, spiritual transformation, and the believer’s relationship with Christ. His *Truths That Set You Free* series includes works intended to help Christians understand foundational biblical truths and recognize how those truths affect everyday Christian life.

The online teaching library extends that work beyond Lott’s books by making individual studies available to readers interested in exploring particular biblical subjects. The resources are designed both for personal study and for those seeking material that can contribute to Sunday school, discipleship, small-group, and other teaching settings.

For Lott, the purpose is not simply to accumulate biblical information but to help readers see how careful interpretation can deepen their understanding of Scripture.

“Biblical truth becomes far richer when we allow the text to speak from within its own world before immediately asking it to answer questions from ours,” Lott said. “Understanding that world does not distance us from Scripture. It often allows us to see more clearly what the biblical writers were communicating and why it mattered.”
