SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., September 21, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Dateline Resources Limited, an Australian company focused on mining and exploration in North America, has filed a motion to stay a preliminary injunction that has halted operations at its Colosseum Gold and Rare Earth Project in California. The motion was filed on September 18, 2026, in the US District Court for the Central District of California, where Judge Christina A. Snyder issued the preliminary injunction on August 10, 2026, in proceedings brought by the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) against the US Government.
The preliminary injunction, which was granted by the District Court, enforces a ban on operations within the Mojave National Preserve, where the Colosseum Gold Mine is located. The motion filed by Dateline Resources Limited and Colosseum Rare Metals, Inc. (CRM) aims to halt the injunction pending appeal. The appeal will be heard by Judge Christina A. Snyder, who issued the injunction.
Dateline Resources Limited, which owns 100% of the Colosseum Gold-REE Project, has been working to resume operations at the site. The company has put forward strong evidence to the District Court, which now allows for a clear path to the Ninth Circuit Court from this point. The company's focus is now on getting back to work at Colosseum as soon as possible.
The Colosseum Gold Mine is situated in the Walker Lane Trend in East San Bernardino County, California, approximately 10 kilometers north of the Mountain Pass rare earth mine. Drill testing for the potential of heavy rare earth elements (HREE) at Colosseum has already commenced. A Bankable Feasibility Study for the project was completed in May 2026.
In March 2026, Dateline Resources Limited consolidated the Music Valley Heavy Rare Earth Project in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, California. The region has known HREE mineralization from USGS rock chip sampling, but it has not been subjected to modern exploration techniques.
The Colosseum Gold Mine is a significant asset for Dateline Resources Limited, which also acquired the high-grade Argos Strontium Project in California. The Argos Project is reportedly the largest strontium deposit in the United States, with previous celestite production grading 95%+ SrSO4.
